Keziah Snead was born in Louisa County, Virginia, about 1732, daughter of Israel Snead and Johanna Hendley. About 1747 she married William (Willis) Watkins, son of William Watkins and Martha Herndon of Chickahominy. On 25 October 1757 she signed the Louisa deed that proved the marriage. She is the first daughter named in her father’s will.
Their children — Thomas, Sarah Jane, John Israel, William, Samuel, David, Israel, Elizabeth, Alexander, Agatha, Frances — carry the Watkins name forward. Public trees, the family files, and DNA matches on Ancestry, MyHeritage, 23andMe, and WikiTree walk that name into Benjamin Watkins, Sarah Lamb, Greenberry, Henry Porter, Jackie, Diane, and Rebecca.
