From the forest to the fret

Every version of the coat from its inception. The stags are born in Wirral greenwood. The gold lattice is born on a Staffordshire keep. They are siblings, not the same shield. In 1316 the Stanley grant of three stags' heads legally forbade the cadet from wearing the Audley fret.

Argent, on a bend azure three stags' heads caboshed or. Born in the Wirral forest, 1284.

Cadet scythe & Poitiers lily

A scythe (sned) and a fleur-de-lys of Poitiers.

1405 — Lord of Mann

The Manx trisceles in gold on gules — lordship of the island, 1405.
