Abeyance terminated 1937

Mary was called out of the 1872 abeyance in 1937 as 22nd Baroness Audley, suo jure. She is the living demonstration that the writ answers to women. A cadet petitioner must understand this: the Crown already prefers a daughter of the last holder to a remote male of a thirteenth-century cadet.

She died in 1942. The title passed in the twentieth-century surname maze: Touchet-Jesson, MacNamee, Souter.
