Created Earl of Castlehaven, 1616
In 1616 James I created George Tuchet Earl of Castlehaven in the peerage of Ireland, with the additional Irish barony of Audley of Orier. The English 1313 barony remained a separate, older dignity.
Two peerages, two kingdoms, one blood. The Irish earldom will later go extinct; the English barony will not, because it is heirs general.
