Irish earldom extinct 1777
On the death of the 8th Earl in 1777 the earldom of Castlehaven and the Irish baronies of Audley of Orier and Audley of Hely became extinct. The 1313 English barony, being heirs general, passed to his nephew George Thicknesse, later Thicknesse-Touchet, as 19th Baron Audley.
Extinction of the loud title. Survival of the old one. This is the entire jurisprudence of the writ.
Wardrobe
Late-Georgian sober cloth, still a coronet that will die with him in Ireland and live in England.
