Husband of Keziah Snead
William Watkins, called Willis, was born 20 October 1734 in Chickahominy, Henrico County, son of William Watkins and Martha Herndon. He bought land in Louisa County in 1749 with Snead witnesses — John, Samuel, Israel — around him. In 1757 Keziah signed away her dower on the sale. That is the marriage in ink.
He died in 1789. Keziah is recorded in Richmond County, North Carolina, the next year, head of a household. Their children carry Watkins into Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri.
